A corner-stone of what makes us all a Cali Paddler is our collective energy towards conservation. If you're reading this, you are no stranger to beach clean-ups, recycling, and phrases like "Leave only footprints".
One small family felt just the same way and after every surf session in So-Cal they would clean up their area and leave it better than they found it. When they discovered the sport of SUP, they took this concept even further to what has now grown into a movement. Taking the beach clean-up to the waterways to wage war against aquatic trash.

Sunset SUP - Is there anything better?
"As I hit the road with my board strapped to my truck, I roll down the window and breathe in the fragrant evening air. I run through the mental checklist of the days "to-do" list and although I forgot dog shampoo and greens for tomorrow's smoothie, I was pretty darn satisfied with the day's accomplishments. Time to head for a nice sunset SUP sesh."
Join us as you sit at your computer or phone for a few minutes and get a little paddle escape and be reminded how lucky we are to enjoy a sunset on the water...then go out and paddle into one yourself!

If you have you ever camped beside a river, fallen asleep next to crashing waves after a surf, tossed stones into a lake, or brought your deep thoughts to the ocean at sunset for a swim...you've felt it. The magical presence of water, in all its forms.
I think we can all agree that there is a sensual force that acts upon us physically, mentally and for some, spiritually, when we are near water. It is a mystical sensation. No doubt we have all experienced this in a multitude of ways while playing in, on, or around, this luxurious liquid. However, much like Sasquatch, or Tahoe Tessie, it's a bit hard to explain at a dinner party. I'm hoping to change that for you.
I believe there is far more going on here; that we aren't completely mindful of. So... Let's dive in!
Cali Paddler Connection: Ernest Johnson & Paddle Republic California
What if I told you I met a guy who got into SUP because of a bet? And how about that same guy going on to represent a national brand called YOLO, then designing paddles and racing all over the world competing with top athletes in the water arena! Sounds like an EPIC bet to lose!
EJ is our guest today and this man is as unique as they come in the sport, yet as down to earth as all of us.

How a single bottle cap can alter the future...
It is with great pride and honor that I sit here, humbled that Cali Paddler has the opportunity to make our first contribution to the three non-profit organizations we support. It's so rewarding, and so exciting, that within just a few months we are able to start giving back to the community. If you're reading this, please take a second to recognize that you contributed to making this possible.
