5% Paddle Pledge
More than just a shirt company. We at Cali Paddler, like yourselves, are very supportive of efforts to protect, restore, and conserve our great waters and wildlife. So much so, that we decided to build a new business model. One that is designed to support California non-profit groups through awareness and monetary giveback.
The 5% Paddle Pledge
We are pledging to align with and help raise awareness for quality non-profit and conservation groups in California, and donate 5% of our PROCEEDS (not just profits) to them, through our lifestyle brand and its opportunities.
How it works
No extra money is required on your part. We have chosen to take the donation out of the proceeds from the sale. So you get a cool shirt, hat or sticker, AND piece of mind that your purchase helped protect the waters we paddle throughout our golden state. Same goes at all events where we are a vendor. And finally, any Cali Paddler events (such as the CP Retreat), 5% of your registration/entry fees will be donated as well. Pay the planet back first, that's how we roll.
In 2017, we slightly adjusted our give-back model, where we will team up with a new non-profit or conservation group each quarter. Check back on this page to see who the most recent groups are, so you can feel good about your purchase. We feel this will let us support and learn about more groups in our state, and help them thrive. That said, our past groups are family. And we will always continue to make sure they succeed in every way we can. Because they are that special.
Cause Products! As of May 2016, we have also introduced Cause Products. Certain products that have a specific theme will have their donations go to a specially aligned non-profit organization. We have launched this initiative with Ocean Discovery Institute and our Garibaldi themed products. Look on the website for Gary Garibaldi, our team paddler, to know your product will have the donation go to this group.
Payments to the registered 501c(3) non-profits and conservation groups are sent quarterly.
